Laura Woollaston - Solicitor / Director

Laura Woollaston - Solicitor / Director

Laura joined the firm in 1998 and qualified as a Fellow of ILEX in 2009 then furthered her qualifications by becoming a solicitor in 2013.

The majority of Laura's career so far has been specialising in the area of law relating to Probate, Wills, Elderly client advice and Court of Protection/Office of the Public Guardian to include Lasting Powers of Attorneys and registering Enduring Powers of Attorney, also joining forces with a number of local Solicitors and charities such as Alzheimer's, Will Aid, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Cancer Research UK and many others to raise funds through various Will schemes. Laura finds this work very enjoyable and rewarding.

More recently Laura has been assisting in the Conveyancing Department and also the practice management of the firm.

Frances Woollaston - Solicitor / Director

Frances Woollaston - Solicitor / Director

Frances qualified as a Solicitor in 1992, prior to that she qualified as a Legal Executive and has worked within the legal profession for in excess of 40 years.

Originally, Frances' expertise was utilised in the area of family law to include divorce, matrimonial finance and children's matters. On setting up the practice in 1994 she widened her knowledge and experience to include property/residential conveyancing, wills and probate.

Frances' present role within the practice is mainly with managing the firm and to supervise work within all Departments to include assisting Solicitors with more complex matters.

Jenny Newson - Assistant Office Manager

Jenny Newson - Assistant Office Manager

Jenny joined us in July 2017 and has taken on the role of Assistant Office Manager, assisting Laura and all members of staff with the day to day running of the office.

Jenny has previously worked in well established solicitor's firms across the Birmingham area and in Aberystwyth as a Legal Secretary/Administration Assistant for the past 24 years in areas of law including Personal Injury, Crime, Family Law and Care matters.

Samantha Thorley - Solicitor

Samantha Thorley - Solicitor

After studying a Law Degree, Samantha trained as a trainee solicitor with a well established firm in Wolverhampton and qualified as a solicitor in 2010. Samantha joined our team in June 2015 and is based at our Boldmere office.

Samantha's area of expertise covers all types of domestic conveyancing, dealing with Sales, Lease extensions and transfers, also Probate, Wills, Elderly client advice and Court of Protection/Office of the Public Guardian to include Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Samantha is local to the Sutton Coldfield area.

Julia Heath - Solicitor

Julia Heath - Solicitor

Julia joined our team in April 2017 from a well established firm of solicitors in Wolverhampton where she qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and went on to become a Partner in the firm and was the Head of the Non-Contentious Department for several years to include being Head of the Commercial Mortgage Department and Head of the firm's Estate Agency Department. Julia was also a member of STEP for over 20 years and has extensive experience in Probate and Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and elderly client matters. Her further areas of expertise include Domestic and Commercial Conveyancing, Leasehold property matters, Transfers and Re-Mortgages.

Julia has become a valued member of the Woollastons' team providing support in our property and private client departments.

Bernadette Burke - Solicitor

Bernadette Burke - Solicitor

Bernadette joined our practice in 2013 and has worked in each of our departments for her training contract and upon qualifying as a solicitor in 2015, assisted in our family department gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Bernadette then moved into our Wills and Probate department playing an integral role in assisting that department, carrying out home visits, hospital visits and dealing with all areas to include Probate, Wills, Elderly client advice and Court of Protection/Office of the Public Guardian to include Lasting Powers of Attorneys and registering Enduring Powers of Attorneys.

Bernadette is based at our Four Oaks office most of the time, however appointments can be made to see clients at either office.

Elizabeth Vernon – Legal Executive FCILEx

Elizabeth Vernon – Legal Executive FCILEx

Liz joined the firm in January 2007 and has a wide range of experience in Family Law having worked at well established firms within the Sutton Coldfield area for the majority of her career.

Liz is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and has been practicing in Family Law for over 30 years and is also a Member of Resolution (Solicitors Family Law Association).

Liz has extensive expertise in dealing specifically with Divorce and separation matters, matrimonial finances, Separation and Pre-nuptial Agreements, Children’s matters to include Residence/Contact etc, and regularly represents client’s interests at Court.

Jean Rice - Conveyancing Executive

Jean Rice - Conveyancing Executive

Jean is based at the Boldmere Office and has been with the firm since 1997. She is a senior Conveyancing Executive who has in excess of 40 year's experience in domestic conveyancing, having built up fantastic working relations with Estate Agents and other professionals over the years.

Jean works with us on a part time basis - two days per week assisting our staff within the conveyancing department.

Daniella Stockdale - Trainee Legal Executive

Daniella Stockdale - Trainee Legal Executive

Daniella joined the firm in 2007 assisting in all departments thus gaining an overview of each area of law within our practice.

Daniella currently assists Samantha with Wills and Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters and also domestic conveyancing transactions. She is looking to complete her qualification to become a Legal Executive.

Leah Leach - Receptionist/Legal Secretary

Leah Leach - Receptionist/Legal Secretary

Leah joined our team in October 2014 and completed her Level 2 of her Secretarial and Business Administration Apprenticeship during her first year with us. Leah currently assists in our Conveyancing Department and Probate department having built up considerable knowledge and experience in recent years. She is a valued member of the team, always on hand to provide clients and Estate Agents alike with helpful updates. Leah is also 'front of house' to help clients with queries when they pop into our office and efficiently deals with day to day running of our reception.

Leah is undertaking the CILEx Paralegal course with a view to qualifying as a Legal Executive in the future.

Jessie Minnis - Trainee Legal Secretary/Assistant Receptionist

Jessie Minnis - Trainee Legal Secretary/Assistant Receptionist

After attending college to study Law, Psychology and History, Jessie joined our team in June 2017. Jessie is currently training to be a Legal Secretary and also assists in the day to day running of the Reception and dealing with clients who come into the office.

Jessie has helped within the Wills and Probate Department but will now undertake the role of Trainee Legal Secretary.

Sophie Morton - Office Administrative Assistant

After undertaking her BTEC in Law Sophie joined us in May 2017. Sophie is currently in the process of completing her level 2 qualification. Sophie is undertaking her CILEx Paralegal course with a view to qualifying as a Legal Executive. She is also being trained in areas of Property, Wills and Probate in order to gain more experience as a Legal Secretary.

Sophie is responsible for general day to day office duties to assist all members of staff within the team.
